01Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use the Service. It applies to all data submitted through the website, browser extension, and API.

Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02Information Collection

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — name, email address, hashed password, and billing details when you create an account or subscribe.
• Submitted media — audio, video, and image files you upload for detection. Files are processed in memory and deleted within 60 seconds of analysis unless you explicitly opt into retention.
• Usage telemetry — IP address, browser, request timestamps, and detection-result metadata. Used for billing, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
• Cookies — strictly necessary cookies for authentication; optional analytics cookies you may decline.

03Use of Personal Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
• Process billing and prevent payment fraud;
• Communicate with you about your account, security alerts, and service updates;
• Improve detection accuracy through aggregated, de-identified analytics;
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce these terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use submitted media to train models without your explicit, separately-given consent.

04Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. The Service is operated under a SOC 2 Type II compliance program with annual third-party audit. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).

No system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you submit data at your own risk. In the event of a data breach affecting your account, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.

05Limitations and Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Detection results are probabilistic. Our published accuracy figure of 95% is an aggregate measurement across our internal test corpus and does not guarantee correct classification of any individual file.

We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of detection results. We strongly recommend out-of-band verification for high-stakes use cases including but not limited to financial transactions, legal proceedings, and identity verification.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

06User Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials;
• All activity that occurs under your account or API key;
• Ensuring you have the legal right to submit any media to the Service;
• Complying with all applicable laws, including data protection and intellectual property law.

You must not use the Service to harass, defame, or otherwise harm any individual. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service's underlying detection systems. Violation of these responsibilities is grounds for immediate account termination.

07Changes to Privacy Policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your registered address and posted on this page at least thirty (30) days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

08Subscription Fee

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis at the rate published on the Pricing page at the time of subscription. Current tiers are Starter ($49/month), Business ($199/month), and Enterprise ($599/month). The Free tier remains available without billing.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle; you retain access through the paid period.

Refunds. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer-protection law.

Failed payment. If a payment fails, we will retry for seven (7) days. After that, the account is downgraded to the Free tier and saved data may be deleted in accordance with Section 9.

09Right to Deletion (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with equivalent data-protection law, you have the right to request:

• Access to a copy of your personal data;
• Correction of inaccurate personal data;
• Deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten");
• Restriction or objection to processing;
• Portability of your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise these rights, submit a request via the Delete Account page or email privacy@deepfakedetector.ai. We will respond within thirty (30) days. Verification of identity may be required.
